Three batches of incubatees graduate from UPV DOST Coastline 5023 FTBI

Three batches of incubatees were recognized after finishing their trainings and requirements as startups in the UPV DOST Coastline 5023 FTBI during the Venture Out: Incubatees Graduation Ceremony last February 10, 2023 at the CFOS AV Hall, UP Visayas, Miagao, Iloilo.

There are 10 incubatees in these three batches namely Algacon Aquafeeds Manufacturing, AMC Marine Boats Manufacturing, Amjoe Food Products, Chemon’s Ongyod Coffee Manufacturing, Dela Torre’s Fry Ville, Bay Sur Salted Fish, De Paul Maker of Budbud Sea Salt, EdiScape, Lagon Guitars and 21 John. These batches were part of this program from the year 2018-2021; venturing out even during the height of the pandemic in 2020-2022 and continuing their business in the new normal.

According to Coastline 5023 FTBI, for incubatees to graduate, they should have accomplished the criteria for graduation which include Business Formation (Legal Documents (BIR, DTI/SEC, Business Permits), Business Team, Business Plan/Business Model Canvas, Branding and Packaging/ Labeling, Company Logo), Production and Operation Establishment (Established Facility, Equipment, Operations Manual, Manpower) and Market Served (Sales and Financial Report, Client Portfolio and Market Channel).

Mr. Philip Ong of Santeh Aquaculture Science and Technology Foundation, Inc. was the inspirational speaker of the event. He encouraged the incubatees to focus on what they are doing and think that it is part of a much bigger plan.

Ms. Milyn Leghid, Coastline 5023 FTBI Project leader also addressed the graduates, “Engaging in business is a big obligation. You are all heroes. Continue working with us and we want you to succeed with us”. Coastline 5023 FTBI  ensures that they are still here to assist them in the next step of their business venture.

Coastline 5023 FTBI is UPV’s technology commercialization and business development facility which is supported by DOST-PCAARRD for the agri-aqua sector. They are responsible for translating commercially viable technology-based ideas into products or services through technology, business and incubation.
