In their 1378th meeting last February 23, 2023, the University of the Philippines Board of Regents (BOR) approved the total proposed budget of Php. 49, 221, 269.18 for the construction of the Regional Research Center (RRC) Phase IV and the provision for complementary laboratory furnitures for the RRC building to support research, public service and capacity building activities. 

The proposed budget covers the provision for parking and roadway to the basement area, landscaping of the atrium and stairs leading to the basement, construction of the viewing deck, basement partitions and finishing, access road and parking, fixtures and multimedia, solar power system, and a laboratory wastewater treatment plant. 

Moreover, additional laboratory furniture like laboratory tables and other necessary interiors were requested to enable full operation of the RRC. This project costs 21, 171, 400.00 pesos. Acquisition of these laboratory furnitures and interiors will capacitate the facility to deliver excellent research services. 

Approval of this budget provision will further improve RRC’s research capacity as well as strengthen collaborative partnerships with other research institutions.
