
OVCRE conducts orientation on delegated authority on alternative mode of procurement




The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension conducted an orientation to its supervised units on the grant of delegated authority to the Vice Chancellors on the alternative mode of procurement through small value procurement and shopping below P50,000. This happened last July 31, 2023 at the Conference Room, New Admin Building.
VCRE Monteclaro requested the presence of the representatives from all the supervised units of the OVCRE to attend in the said orientation. These are composed of the Regional Research Center (RRC), Philippine Genome Center (PGC), Sentro ng Wikang Filipino (SWF), Technology Transfer and Business Development Office (TTBDO), National Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology (NIMBB), Gender and Development Program (GDP), and the Office of Continuing Education and Pahinungod OCEP). This orientation is a way for the participants to be familiarized with their responsibilities in the aspect of procedural flow, as well as the requirements needed in doing alternative modes of procurement.
Ms. Julie Ann Cala-or, SPSO Staff discussed the general guidelines for small value procurement and shopping for delegated authority including the procurement process flow through cash advance and direct payment to suppliers.
Also present in the event were Prof. Emeliza C. Lozada, SPSO Chief and Ms. Arlene N. Avanceña, Budget Office Chief and chair of the UPV Bids and Awards committee. They also served as resource speakers and addressed the questions raised by the participants.
