The Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) will celebrate the Development Policy Research Month (DPRM) on September 2, 2022 with a theme “#CloseTheGap: Accelerate Post-pandemic Recovery through Social Justice”, or in Filipino, “#AlisinAngAgwat: Pabilisin ang Pag-ahon Mula sa Pandemya sa Pamamagitan ng Katarungang Panlipunan”. Highlighting, the importance of making social justice a guiding principle of the country’s post-pandemic recovery plan, particularly in three areas: human capital development and social protection, public health services and infrastructure, and environmental resilience.

The ERC has announced its Work Programme for 2023 with a total budget of around €2.2 billion for grants.

This amount will provide support for more than a thousand top researchers carrying out frontier science across Europe.

The ERC is the premier European funding organization for excellent frontier research. It funds creative researchers of any nationality and age, to run projects based across Europe.

The Work Programme also includes a tentative calendar of grant competitions in 2023.

  • Biomedical Devices Engineering for Health
  • Diagnostics
  • Digital and Frontier Technologies for Health
  • Disaster Risk Reduction and Managment and Climate Adaptation in Health
  • Re-emerging and Emerging Diseases
  • Omic Technologies for Health
  • Nutrition and Food Safety
  • Functional Foods
  • Mental Health
  • Tuklas Lunas (Drug discovery and Development)
The program aims to develop research capabilities of local researchers under the WVCIEERD priority areas. The specific objectives are as follows: 
 
  • Provide R&D grants for small projects in the region with a maximum grant of
    P500,000.00 per project (2 slots for year 2022)
  • Develop capabilities of new researchers in preparation for application bigger funding
    opportunities, national and international
  • Conduct R&D projects that address the needs of the region
